Joey Baker was highly recommended by the realtor who sold me my house. I saw what looked like termites, but Joey came right away and identified carpenter ants. I saved some dead ones in a zip lock bag for him to look at. He and his team treated the inside and outside of the house. It only took 2 treatments to get rid of the little critters. Don't do what I did. When they first started trailing out of the wall, I sprayed pesticide on them. Joey let me know to let them trail, otherwise they will go back in and make another colony.

Correctly identifying the ant species is the single most important step in any ant control programme. Here is what our technicians encounter most frequently across Crockett, Grapeland, and the surrounding area:
Rover Ants
Tiny, fast-moving, usually in your kitchen or bathroom. They're after sweets and moisture. These guys are sneaky – colonies can be almost anywhere, even in potted plants.
Odorous House Ants
Smell like rotten coconut when you squish them (don't ask how we know). They love sweet stuff and show up in huge numbers. Very common in homes around here.
Argentine Ants

Use the Right Products
Different ants need different treatments. Some respond to baits. Some need direct treatment of the colony. Some need both.

Cut Off Entry Points
Ants can squeeze through cracks you can’t even see. We treat entry points and work with you on sealing the obvious gaps.

Our Ant Control Treatment Process
Every ant control visit at Critter Gitters follows a structured process — not a generic spray-and-go approach:
Step 1 — Identification: We identify the ant species present and locate all active trails, entry points, and harbourage areas before applying any product.
Step 2 — Interior Treatment: Targeted gel bait placed in harborage zones (inside wall voids, under appliances, inside cabinets). Crack and crevice applications at active entry points. We do not broadcast spray interior surfaces.
Step 3 — Exterior Perimeter: Non-repellent liquid treatment applied to foundation perimeter, expansion joints, utility penetrations, and exterior wall base. This creates a transfer zone — ants carry the active ingredient back to the colony.
Step 4 — Colony Disruption: Granular bait applications in the yard and garden perimeter for species with outdoor colonies.
Step 5 — Follow-Up: We contact you after 10–14 days. If activity persists, we return at no charge under our re-service guarantee.
