Bed Bug Treatment in Crockett, Palestine & Surrounding Areas
Get Rid of Bed Bugs for Good
Finding bed bugs in your home is one of the most stressful pest problems you can deal with. They’re hard to eliminate, they spread fast, and they affect your sleep and peace of mind every single night until they’re gone.
Here’s the truth — bed bugs don’t care how clean your house is. They hitchhike in luggage, used furniture, clothing. Anyone can get them. The difference is knowing how to get rid of them effectively. That’s where we come in.

I contacted Critter Gitters this morning to help me eradicate a huge wasp nest on the front of my house and around the eaves of my roof. They kindly came out a couple of hours later, killed all of the wasps, and sent me a picture of the nests. Now THAT’S service!!! Wouldn’t use anyone else!! Thanks Lane for your help and awesome service!

Joey Baker was highly recommended by the realtor who sold me my house. I saw what looked like termites, but Joey came right away and identified carpenter ants. I saved some dead ones in a zip lock bag for him to look at. He and his team treated the inside and outside of the house. It only took 2 treatments to get rid of the little critters. Don't do what I did. When they first started trailing out of the wall, I sprayed pesticide on them. Joey let me know to let them trail, otherwise they will go back in and make another colony.

Why Bed Bugs Are So Hard to Kill
Bed bugs are experts at hiding. During the day they squeeze into cracks in bed frames, behind headboards, inside electrical outlets, under baseboards. They come out at night to feed. Then they disappear again.
They’re also resistant to most over-the-counter pesticides. What worked 20 years ago doesn’t work now. The resistance has built up over generations and store-bought sprays have made it worse — repellent products scatter bed bugs deeper into walls and into adjacent rooms. One infested bedroom becomes three.
And they reproduce fast. One female can lay hundreds of eggs in her lifetime. Miss a few during treatment and you’re back to square one within weeks.
Professional-grade treatment with the right products and the right protocol is the only reliable way out.
Signs You Have Bed Bugs
Bites — Small, red, itchy welts, usually in a line or cluster. Often on arms, legs, shoulders, or back. Not everyone reacts to bed bug bites, so you might not even know you’re being bitten.
Blood Spots — Tiny blood stains on sheets or pillowcases from crushed bed bugs or bite sites.
Dark Spots — Bed bug fecal matter — looks like tiny black or brown dots on mattresses, box springs, or nearby furniture.
Shed Skins — Bed bugs molt as they grow. You might find translucent shed skins near hiding spots.
Live Bugs — Small, flat, reddish-brown, about the size of an apple seed. Hard to spot unless you’re specifically looking for them.
If you’re seeing any of these signs, don’t wait. The longer you wait, the worse it gets.
Our Bed Bug Treatment Process
Inspection and Assessment
First visit is all about finding out how bad it is. We inspect bedrooms, furniture, baseboards, outlets, luggage storage areas — everywhere bed bugs hide. We’ll also ask questions: When did you first notice them? Traveled recently? Bought any used furniture? This tells us where they came from and how widespread the infestation is.
Why We Use a Biological Treatment Approach
Most pest control companies rely entirely on chemical insecticides. Our preferred approach combines a biological treatment with a residual insecticide and insect growth regulator — each applied strategically in different areas based on where bed bugs live and travel.
The biological component uses a naturally occurring fungus that attaches to bed bugs as they move through treated areas. The fungus penetrates the exoskeleton and kills them within days. What makes it different from chemical treatments is that infected bed bugs carry it back to the harborage area and pass it to nestmates through contact — reaching bugs hiding in places product can never be applied directly.
The residual and growth regulator work in complementary areas, stopping bed bugs from maturing and reproducing while providing ongoing knockdown.
Because the biological element isn’t a chemical pesticide, bed bugs cannot develop resistance to it the way they have to most store-bought and even professional-grade sprays. That matters for both effectiveness and for people sensitive to pesticide exposure.
We treat every surface and harborage area in the room, and adjacent rooms as well — because if they’re in the master bedroom, they’ve likely already moved to the spare room or living room.
Preparation Requirements
Bed bug treatment requires prep work on your end. We give you a detailed checklist, but here are the basics:
- Wash all bedding, clothes, and curtains in hot water — dry on high heat for at least 30 minutes
- Vacuum thoroughly, then throw away the vacuum bag immediately in an outside trash can
- Remove clutter from bedrooms — bed bugs love hiding in piles of stuff
- Pull furniture away from walls so we can treat behind it
- Do not use any consumer bed bug sprays before we arrive — they scatter bed bugs and make treatment less effective
- Do not remove mattresses or furniture before our inspection — moving infested items spreads the problem
This isn’t optional. If you don’t prep properly, the treatment won’t work as well.
Follow-Up Treatment
No product kills bed bug eggs — they’re protected inside the shell. Our protocol includes a follow-up inspection and treatment 30 days after the initial visit. By then, eggs that survived the first treatment have hatched into nymphs. We treat again before they reach reproductive maturity and the cycle starts over.
What You Need to Do After Treatment
- Don’t put bedding back on immediately — wait until everything’s dry and we’ve cleared the room
- Continue washing and drying items on high heat regularly
- Don’t bring used furniture into the house without inspecting it thoroughly
- Use mattress and box spring encasements — they trap any remaining bed bugs inside and prevent new ones from getting in
- Reduce clutter in bedrooms — less stuff means fewer hiding places
How Long Until Bed Bugs Are Gone?
Most infestations are under control after the initial treatment, with the 30-day follow-up completing the process. You’ll still see a few bed bugs between treatments — that’s normal.
The biological product works over several days as the fungus does its work, and bed bugs in harborage areas are being exposed through contact with treated nestmates.
That’s why the follow-up treatment is critical. If you’re still seeing significant activity after the second treatment, we’ll adjust — different coverage, more thorough prep on your end, or additional product application.
Why DIY Bed Bug Treatment Usually Fails
You see bed bugs, you panic, you run to the store and buy every spray you can find. We get it.
Problem is, most store-bought products don’t work on bed bugs anymore. The ones that do kill on contact don’t have residual effects — they stop working the moment they dry. And repellent sprays drive bed bugs deeper into hiding and scatter them to other rooms. Now instead of one infested bedroom, you’ve got three.
Save yourself the frustration and money. Call us first and do it right.
Why Bed Bug Treatment Costs More Than Regular Service
Bed bug treatments are more expensive than standard pest control. Here’s why:
Multiple visits required. Specialized biological products. Significantly more time per visit. Intensive preparation and thorough room-by-room application.
We’re not trying to gouge you — we’re telling you what it actually takes to eliminate bed bugs. Compared to throwing away furniture, living with bites every night, and the mental stress of dealing with them for months — it’s worth it.
Do I Need to Throw Away My Mattress?
Usually not. Professional treatment of the mattress, box spring, and bed frame is typically sufficient. We’ll tell you during the inspection if anything is beyond treatment. Adding a mattress encasement after treatment is cheap insurance.
Preventing Bed Bugs After Treatment
Once they’re gone, you don’t want them back:
- Inspect hotel rooms when you travel — check mattress seams, headboards, and furniture before unpacking
- Keep luggage off the floor and bed when traveling — use luggage racks or the bathroom
- Inspect used furniture before bringing it home — seriously, free furniture isn’t worth a bed bug infestation
- Use mattress encasements — they’re cheap insurance
- Reduce clutter in bedrooms — easier to spot problems early
