SPIDER CONTROL SERVICES IN EAST TEXAS

Spiders in East Texas are just part of life. But that doesn’t mean you have to share your house with them.

Most of what we deal with around here is harmless — just annoying. But we’ve also got black widows and brown recluse, and those you don’t want anywhere near your family.

Knowing what you’re dealing with matters, because how we treat them isn’t the same.

The Spiders We See Most in Houston, Trinity & Anderson Counties

Wolf Spiders

Big, hairy, fast. They hunt on the ground and sometimes wander inside. Not dangerous, but they’ll scare the daylights out of you when one runs across the floor at night.

Black Widows

Shiny black with a red hourglass on the underside. They like dark, undisturbed spots: woodpiles, storage sheds, under decks. Bites are rare but serious. We take these seriously.

Orb Weavers

The ones building those huge webs between trees, across your porch, over your walkway. They’re actually beneficial — eat mosquitoes and flies — but nobody wants to walk face-first into one every morning.

Brown Recluse

Tan or brown with a violin-shaped marking on the back. They hide in closets, attics, storage boxes. Most bites happen when people accidentally disturb them. These are the ones we're most concerned about.

Jumping Spiders

Little guys that hop around. Harmless and kind of cute, honestly. But if you don’t want any spiders, we’ll handle them too.

Why You Keep Seeing Spiders (And How We Stop Them)

Spiders don’t just show up randomly. They’re following food — other bugs. If you’ve got a lot of spiders, you’ve probably got a lot of insects they’re feeding on.

That’s why our approach starts with reducing the food source. We treat for the ants, flies, crickets, and other bugs that attract spiders in the first place. Then we target the spiders directly — hitting their hiding spots, knocking down webs and egg sacs, and treating entry points so new ones don’t move in.

One egg sac can contain hundreds of spiderlings. Leaving them in place while spraying around them doesn’t solve anything.

Our Spider Treatment Process

Outside First

Most spiders live outside and wander in. We treat around the foundation, under eaves, around windows and doors, in the garage, under decks — anywhere spiders are actually living, not just where you’re seeing them.

We knock down webs and egg sacs as part of every visit. On the Essential Plan that’s up to 15 feet. Premium Plan goes up to 30 feet — gets those second-story eaves.

Inside When Needed

If you’re seeing spiders inside regularly, we’ll treat baseboards, corners, closets, and other hiding areas. We use products that create a barrier — spiders pick up the treatment when they cross it.

For black widow or brown recluse activity, we get more targeted: attics, storage areas, and the specific spots where they’re nesting.

What About Black Widows and Brown Recluse?

These get a different approach entirely — not just a general spray.

We do a thorough inspection first to find where they’re actually living. Then we treat those specific areas with products that work on these species. We’ll also walk you through prevention: sealing entry points, reducing clutter, dealing with conditions that are drawing them in. The best treatment won’t hold if the property keeps attracting them.

Before We Come Out — What Helps

A few things on your end make a real difference in how effective the treatment is:

  • Pull furniture and larger items away from walls so we can treat baseboards and corners fully
  • Clear clutter from garage floors, storage areas, and closets — undisturbed boxes and equipment are prime widow and recluse harborage
  • Move firewood, mulch piles, and debris away from the foundation
  • Trim back any vegetation touching the exterior walls — branches and shrubs in direct contact with the structure are a direct entry route
  • If you’ve spotted a black widow or brown recluse location, let us know so we can prioritize that area during the inspection

How Often Do You Need Spider Treatment?

Here’s the straightforward answer: spiders are harder to kill with residual products than most insects because they hold their bodies up off surfaces and don’t groom themselves the way other bugs do. Direct contact works best, which is why web and egg sac removal matters as much as the product application.

Quarterly service works well for most homes. If you’ve got a low tolerance for spiders or you’re seeing heavy activity during warmer months, we can add treatments. You’ll probably see a spider here and there between visits — especially in the fall when they’re looking for a place to overwinter. That’s normal. If it becomes a recurring problem, call us and we’ll figure out what’s going on.

Reducing Spiders Around Your Property

We handle the treatment side, but a few things on your end keep numbers down between visits:

  • Keep vegetation trimmed back from the house — spiders love hanging out in bushes right against the foundation
  • Reduce outdoor lighting or switch to yellow bulbs — lights attract insects, insects attract spiders
  • Clear out storage areas — spiders love undisturbed cardboard boxes, old blankets, and piles of stuff
  • Seal gaps around windows, doors, and pipes — makes it harder for them to get inside

Spider Control Across Our Service Areas

Whether you’re in Crockett, Palestine, Huntsville, Conroe, or anywhere else we service, spiders are pretty much the same. What changes is the conditions — properties near lakes or with heavy woods tend to see more. We adjust what we’re doing based on what we’re actually seeing at your location. Not the same spray-and-pray approach everywhere.

What’s Included in Your Plans

All three plans — Essential, Premium, and Elite — include spider control with quarterly treatments. Additional summer treatments can be added depending on your threshold and what you’re dealing with. Want to bundle mosquito control or lawn treatment? We’ll knock 10% off.
