Joey Baker was highly recommended by the realtor who sold me my house. I saw what looked like termites, but Joey came right away and identified carpenter ants. I saved some dead ones in a zip lock bag for him to look at. He and his team treated the inside and outside of the house. It only took 2 treatments to get rid of the little critters. Don't do what I did. When they first started trailing out of the wall, I sprayed pesticide on them. Joey let me know to let them trail, otherwise they will go back in and make another colony.

The Ants We Deal With Most Around East Texas
Rover Ants
Tiny, fast-moving, black. Usually showing up in your kitchen or bathroom. They’re after sweets and moisture, and their colonies can be almost anywhere — including potted plants. Sneaky little things.
Odorous House Ants
Smell like rotten coconut when you squish them (don’t ask how we know). They love sweet stuff and show up in huge numbers. Very common in homes around here.
Argentine Ants
Form massive colonies with multiple queens. When you spray them with repellent products, the colony splits and you end up with two problems instead of one. These need baiting and non-repellent strategies that work through the whole colony.
Fire Ants
The ones that ruin your yard and send kids running inside crying. Painful stings, aggressive behavior, and they spread fast. Treating individual mounds is a short-term fix — the colony just relocates. We do a broadcast treatment across the yard using non-repellent product that workers carry back to the colony and share with the queen. One treatment, guaranteed for a year. Fire ant treatment is included in the Premium Plan.
Carpenter Ants
Big, black, and destructive. They don’t eat wood like termites, but they tunnel through it to build nests. Usually a sign of a moisture problem somewhere. These are serious and need immediate attention. Carpenter ant control is part of the Elite Plan.
Why the Ants Keep Coming Back (And How We Stop It)
Most pest control just sprays baseboards inside and the foundation outside. Kills the ants you see. But the colony’s still out there sending more.
Our approach:
Find the Colony
We track where they’re coming from. Follow the trails. Check for nests in mulch, under stones, in wall voids, around tree roots. You can’t treat what you haven’t found.
Use the Right Products
Different ants need different treatments. Some respond to baits. Some need direct colony treatment. Some need both. We rotate products and methods based on the species and where they’re nesting — not a one-size-fits-all spray route. We rotate products and methods based on what species you’ve got and where they’re nesting.
Cut Off Entry Points
Ants can squeeze through cracks you can’t even see. We treat entry points and work with you on sealing the obvious gaps.
Address Conditions That Attract Them
Leaky pipe? Moisture under the house? Mulch piled against the foundation? We’ll point those out because fixing the conditions makes the treatment last longer.
Our Ant Control Treatment Process
First visit, we’re figuring out what kind of ants you’ve got and where they’re living — not just
spraying and hoping. Then we treat inside and outside: crack and crevice work, targeted
applications where ants are active, bait placements for species that respond to that.
For Argentine ants with established multi-queen colonies, it takes a few treatments to really
knock them out. We’ll be upfront about that from the start.
Fire Ant Treatment — Why It’s Its Own Thing
Fire ants need a broadcast approach across the whole yard — not spot treatments on individual mounds. We use a professional-grade non-repellent product that binds to the soil and stays active for a full year. Fire ants can’t detect it, so they walk through the treatment zone normally. The product transfers from worker to worker through contact, contaminating the nest and eliminating the colony from the inside out.

Carpenter Ant Control — When You Need More Than Quarterly Service
If you’re seeing big black ants — especially ones with wings in the spring — you might have
carpenter ants. These are a bigger problem than regular ants because they damage wood.
We locate the nest, treat it directly, and help you figure out the moisture problem that brought them there in the first place. Carpenter ant control is included in the Elite Plan. For Essential or Premium customers, it’s an additional service — but one you don’t want to ignore.
What to Expect After Treatment
You’ll probably see ants for a week or so after we treat. That’s normal — they’re picking up bait or moving through treated areas. Within one to two weeks, activity should drop significantly.
If you’re still seeing heavy activity after two weeks, call us. We’ll come back and re-treat at
no charge.
A Few Things That Help Before and After We Come Out
- Don’t spray any bug sprays or clean kitchen surfaces with harsh cleaners for 48 hours
before we treat — it interferes with bait uptake and can make the treatment less
effective - Don’t leave food out, including pet food overnight
- Fix leaky pipes and faucets — moisture is a major attractant
- Keep mulch and firewood away from the foundation
- Seal gaps around windows, doors, and pipes
