Joey Baker was highly recommended by the realtor who sold me my house. I saw what looked like termites, but Joey came right away and identified carpenter ants. I saved some dead ones in a zip lock bag for him to look at. He and his team treated the inside and outside of the house. It only took 2 treatments to get rid of the little critters. Don't do what I did. When they first started trailing out of the wall, I sprayed pesticide on them. Joey let me know to let them trail, otherwise they will go back in and make another colony.

That’s why our Scorpion Plan is separate from our regular service. It requires different products, higher concentrations, and monthly visits during peak season instead of quarterly. If quarterly service worked on scorpions, we’d offer that. It doesn’t.
The Striped Bark Scorpion in East Texas
The striped bark scorpion is the only scorpion species commonly encountered in East Texas homes. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension on striped bark scorpions identifies it as a climbing species — unlike ground-dwelling scorpions, it moves vertically and is commonly found inside homes on walls, in closets, and in bedding. Its sting is painful and can cause localized swelling but is rarely medically serious for healthy adults — different from the Bark Scorpion prevalent in West Texas.
For properties along the Sam Houston National Forest corridor — New Waverly, Huntsville, and the forest-edge communities — scorpion pressure is significantly elevated. Forest-edge habitat provides the exact conditions scorpions need: rocky debris, bark, logs, and prey-rich insect populations. How We Eliminate Scorpions From Your Home

We treat the exterior foundation, all ground-level harborage (wood piles, landscape timbers, rock borders, debris), and every gap along the roofline and foundation where scorpions enter. Bark scorpions can fit through a 1/16-inch gap — standard pest exclusion addresses most of these, but targeted sealing of scorpion-specific entry points is critical.
Inside, we treat wall voids, closets, and crawl spaces where scorpions hide during daylight hours. A UV/black light inspection at night can locate scorpions that daylight inspections miss — we offer this as part of severe-infestation assessments.
Reducing the insect prey base is also essential. Scorpions follow their food supply — crickets, cockroaches, and other insects. Combining scorpion treatment with our spider control and general pest plan removes both the scorpions and what’s attracting them.

Q: Do black lights help find scorpions?
A: Yes — scorpions fluoresce under UV/black light and are easy to spot at night. Walking your property at night with a black light is a useful monitoring tool and can help you see where scorpions are concentrating so we can target treatment.
Q: What should I do to make my home less attractive to scorpions?
