Huntsville, TX presents a unique pest landscape: Sam Houston State University’s high-density student housing drives some of the highest German cockroach and bed bug call volumes in Walker County, while the adjacent
Sam Houston National Forest brings persistent pressure from termites, rodents, mosquitoes, and carpenter ants. Critter Gitters Pest Management brings ACE-certified expertise to Huntsville from our Crockett, TX headquarters — one call and a licensed East Texas technician is on the way.
Our lead technician is an Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) and a Certified Sentricon Specialist — the highest level of termite certification available. Whether you’re a Huntsville homeowner, a property manager near SHSU, or a business owner on 11th Street, Critter Gitters delivers the same precision pest control that Houston County has trusted for over a decade.
Huntsville’s got sandy soil and warm weather – fire ants thrive here. They build aggressive colonies in yards, parks, campus areas, playgrounds. Painful stings that ruin outdoor activities for families and students. Our Premium and Elite plans include fire ant treatment up to 20,000 sq ft. Quarterly applications keep populations suppressed year-round so your property stays usable.
Properties with trees, landscaping, or proximity to Lake Raven get hammered with mosquitoes from April through October. Makes summers miserable if you’re trying to enjoy your deck or yard. Our monthly Mosquito Duo Defense program uses barrier treatments and In2Care breeding site eliminators. Reduces populations dramatically so you can actually use your outdoor space.
Huntsville’s got beautiful historic homes and established neighborhoods. Unfortunately, termites love older properties with wood siding, pier and beam foundations, moisture problems, and wood-to-soil contact. We inspect for termite activity and damage, treat active infestations with Termidor liquid applications, and install Sentricon monitoring systems for continuous long-term protection.
Mice and rats get into attics and walls, especially in older areas of town. They chew electrical wiring (fire hazard), contaminate insulation, and reproduce fast if not addressed quickly.
We trap inside structures, place exterior bait stations strategically, and seal entry points to prevent new rodents from getting in.
Quarterly pest control for ants, roaches, spiders, and everyday invaders. Interior and exterior treatments. Web and wasp nest removal up to 15 feet. Re-service guarantee if covered pests return between visits.
Everything in Essential plus exterior rodent bait stations, fire ant treatment up to 20,000 sq ft, and wasp nest removal up to 30 feet. Better for properties with ongoing pest pressure or multiple issues.
Complete protection package. Everything above plus Sentricon termite monitoring system and carpenter ant treatment. Total peace of mind for your Huntsville property.
Bundle mosquito control or lawn service with any plan and save 10% on both services.
Black widows in garages and storage areas. Brown recluse in closets, attics, and undisturbed spaces. Wolf spiders running across floors at night. Orb weavers building massive webs across walkways and between trees. We treat where spiders actually live and hide – not just spray baseboards and hope. Vegetation around foundations, under decks and porches, harborage areas, and entry points get targeted treatment.
Argentine ants, rover ants, odorous house ants – they follow moisture and food sources into homes. Once they establish trails to your kitchen or bathroom, they keep coming back unless you treat the colony at its source. We locate where they’re nesting, treat the colony directly when possible, and create barriers around foundations to prevent new colonies from moving in.
Paper wasps, red wasps, mud daubers – they build nests under eaves, in attics, on porch furniture, around light fixtures. Aggressive and dangerous when disturbed, especially around kids and pets. We remove nests as part of regular service. Essential Plan covers up to 15 feet, Premium and Elite Plans up to 30 feet for those higher locations.
Small kitchen roaches that breed incredibly fast and infest homes. Need specialized clean-out treatment – multiple visits, intensive prep work from homeowners, strategic product applications. Not included in regular plans because the treatment approach is completely different. We quote German roach clean-outs separately based on infestation severity.
Common around properties with pets or wooded areas nearby. We treat yards and outdoor spaces to reduce populations. Combined with vet-approved pet prevention, keeps them controlled throughout the season.
We know the pest patterns around Huntsville. We know which neighborhoods see more termite pressure. We know where mosquitoes are worst near the lake. We know what works in different soil types and conditions. That local knowledge and almost 20 years of experience makes a difference in how we protect your property.
