Joey Baker was highly recommended by the realtor who sold me my house. I saw what looked like termites, but Joey came right away and identified carpenter ants. I saved some dead ones in a zip lock bag for him to look at. He and his team treated the inside and outside of the house. It only took 2 treatments to get rid of the little critters. Don't do what I did. When they first started trailing out of the wall, I sprayed pesticide on them. Joey let me know to let them trail, otherwise they will go back in and make another colony.

The Ants We Deal With Most Around East Texas
Rover Ants
Tiny, fast-moving, usually in your kitchen or bathroom. They're after sweets and moisture. These guys are sneaky – colonies can be almost anywhere, even in potted plants.
Odorous House Ants
Smell like rotten coconut when you squish them (don't ask how we know). They love sweet stuff and show up in huge numbers. Very common in homes around here.
Argentine Ants
Form massive colonies with multiple queens. When you spray them, the colony just splits and you end up with two problems instead of one. These need baiting strategies that wipe out the whole colony.
Fire Ants
The ones that ruin your yard and send kids running inside crying. Painful stings, aggressive behavior, and they spread fast. These need specialized treatment – not included in our Essential Plan, but Premium handles them.
Carpenter Ants
Big, black, and destructive. They don't eat wood like termites, but they tunnel through it to build nests. Usually a sign of moisture problems. These are serious and need immediate attention.
Why the Ants Keep Coming Back (And How We Stop It)
Most pest control just sprays baseboards inside and the foundation outside. Kills the ants you see. But the colony’s still out there sending more.
Our approach:
Find the Colony
We track where they’re coming from. Follow their trails. Check for nests in mulch, under stones, in wall voids, around tree roots.
Use the Right Products
Different ants need different treatments. Some respond to baits. Some need direct treatment of the colony. Some need both.
We rotate products and methods based on what species you’ve got and where they’re nesting.
Cut Off Entry Points
Ants can squeeze through cracks you can’t even see. We treat entry points and work with you on sealing the obvious gaps.
Address Conditions That Attract Them
Got a leaky pipe? Moisture under the house? Mulch piled against the foundation? We’ll point those out because fixing them makes our treatment work better.
Our Ant Control Treatment Process
First visit, we're doing more than just spraying. We're figuring out what kind of ants you've got and where they're living.
Then we treat – inside and outside. Crack and crevice work. Targeted applications where ants are active. Bait placements for species that respond to that.
For some ant problems (like Argentine ants with massive colonies), it takes a few treatments to really knock them out. We'll be upfront about that.
Fire Ant Treatment – Why It’s Separate
Fire ants are different. They need specialized products and treatment methods. We apply a
broadcast treatment across your yard. This treatment is non repellent and will not have them
move the colony. The treatment is guaranteed for 1 year and works great!
Carpenter Ant Control – When You Need More Than Quarterly Service
If you’re seeing big black ants (especially with wings in spring), you might have carpenter ants. These are a bigger problem than regular ants because they damage wood. Carpenter ant control is included in the Elite Plan. For Essential or Premium customers, it’s an additional service – but one you don’t want to ignore. We’ll locate the nest (often in damp or damaged wood), treat it directly, and help you figure out what’s causing the moisture problem that attracted them.
What to Expect After Treatment
You’ll probably see ants for a week or so after we treat. That’s normal – they’re picking up the
bait or running through treated areas.
Within a week or two, activity should drop significantly. If you’re still seeing lots of ants, give us a
call. We’ll come back and re-treat at no charge.
Ant Control Included in Every Service Plan
All three plans (Essential, Premium, Elite) include ant control for the common indoor ants – Rover, Argentine, Odorous House.
Premium Plan adds fire ant treatment across your yard.
Elite Plan adds carpenter ant control.
Keeping Ants Out Long-Term
Quarterly treatments keep populations down, but a few things help:
Don’t leave food out (even pet food overnight). Clean up spills right away. Fix leaky pipes and faucets. Keep mulch and firewood away from the foundation.
Not trying to give you a chore list – just the reality of what helps treatments last longer.
