RODENT CONTROL IN EAST TEXAS – MICE & RAT REMOVAL
Stop Rodents Before They Damage Your Home
Hearing scratching in the walls at night? Finding droppings in the pantry? Seeing chewed wires
in the garage?
You’ve got rodents. And the longer you wait, the worse it gets.
Mice and rats aren’t just gross – they’re destructive. They chew through wires (fire hazard),
contaminate food, spread disease, and reproduce at an alarming rate.

I contacted Critter Gitters this morning to help me eradicate a huge wasp nest on the front of my house and around the eaves of my roof. They kindly came out a couple of hours later, killed all of the wasps, and sent me a picture of the nests. Now THAT’S service!!! Wouldn’t use anyone else!! Thanks Lane for your help and awesome service!

Joey Baker was highly recommended by the realtor who sold me my house. I saw what looked like termites, but Joey came right away and identified carpenter ants. I saved some dead ones in a zip lock bag for him to look at. He and his team treated the inside and outside of the house. It only took 2 treatments to get rid of the little critters. Don't do what I did. When they first started trailing out of the wall, I sprayed pesticide on them. Joey let me know to let them trail, otherwise they will go back in and make another colony.

The Rodents We Deal With Around Here
House Mice
Small, gray or brown, big ears. They squeeze through gaps the size of a dime. Live inside your walls, attics, cabinets. Eat your food, chew your stuff, leave droppings everywhere.
Roof Rats (Black Rats)
Sleek, dark, long tail. Great climbers – they get into attics through tree branches or utility lines. Common around older homes and wooded areas.
Norway Rats (Brown Rats)
Bigger, stockier, short tail. Usually burrow around foundations or live in crawlspaces. More likely to be seen outside but will move inside when it gets cold. All three are common in East Texas. All three need to be dealt with quickly.
Why You Can’t Just Set Out a Few Traps and Call It Done
Here’s what most people try: buy some traps from the store, set them out, catch a couple mice, and think the problem’s solved.
Then a week later, they’re hearing scratching again.
The rodents you’re catching are just a small part of the population. There are more hiding in the
walls, attic, crawlspace. And they’re breeding.
Effective rodent control means finding entry points, sealing them up, eliminating the population inside, and preventing new ones from getting in.
That takes more than a few snap traps.
Due to the potential hazards both to health and property, we take rodents very seriously. We
have invested hundreds of hours training in house and traveling the country to learn directly
from the industry’s top specialists and innovators, bringing our rodent program to the next level.
Our service blends advanced detection tools with custom exclusion that’s designed to be as
aesthetically clean as it is effective.
Our Rodent Control Process
Inspection First
We start by figuring out what you’ve got and where they’re getting in. Walk the exterior looking for gaps, holes, damaged vents. Check the attic and crawlspace for signs of activity.
Rodents leave evidence – droppings, gnaw marks, grease stains along their travel routes, nesting materials.
We’ll show you what we’re finding and explain the plan.
Put trapping and baiting before exclusion
Exclusion – Sealing Entry Points
This is the most important step. If you don’t seal the entry points, you’ll be trapping rodents forever because new ones just keep coming in.
We seal gaps around pipes, vents, utility lines. Repair damaged screens. Install door sweeps.
Use custom fabricated metal painted to blend with your home to eliminate entry points they’re exploiting.
Mice can fit through a gap the size of a pencil. We’re thorough.
Trapping and Baiting
The old wives’ tale that rodents look for water after ingesting poison and die outside is
false. Like you and me, when rodents feel sick, if able they go home. That’s why we utilize snap
traps in the attic and where rodents are running inside and population reduction rodent stations around the exterior and in heavy vegetation around the property. When the
population inside has been eliminated we can
Monitoring and Maintenance
Rodent control isn’t one-and-done. We come back to check traps, remove dead rodents, reset traps, and monitor for new activity.
If we’re still seeing signs after a few weeks, we adjust the approach – add more traps, find additional entry points, or change bait placement.
What’s Included in the Premium and Elite Plans
Both plans include exterior rodent bait stations. These are checked and maintained during your regular quarterly visits.
If you're dealing with an active infestation inside the house, that's a separate service – requires trapping, exclusion work, and more frequent monitoring.
But the exterior stations help prevent rodents from getting established in the first place. They're a good line of defense.
When You Need Full Rodent Exclusion and Trapping
Got rodents in the attic? Hearing them in the walls? Seeing droppings regularly?
That needs more than bait stations. That needs exclusion work, interior trapping, and follow-up visits.
We’ll give you a quote based on what’s involved. Every house is different – some need minor repairs and a few traps, others need extensive exclusion and weeks of monitoring.
We’re upfront about what it’ll take and what it’ll cost. No surprises.
Rodent Damage – Why Speed Matters
Rodents gnaw constantly. Their teeth never stop growing, so they chew on everything – wood,
plastic, wires, aluminum sheathing, sheet rock, soft cement, asphalt, and soft metals like lead
and copper. Chewed wires can cause electrical fires. Contaminated insulation has to be
replaced. Damaged ductwork reduces your HVAC efficiency.
We’ve seen rodents cause thousands of dollars in damage as well as the . The sooner you deal
with it, the less damage they do.
Rodents Borne Diseases
History has shown commensal rodents are responsible for some of the most devastating
disease outbreaks of all time. Disease organisms (pathogens) can be transmitted directly
through the rodent’s bite or vectored by a flea, tick, or mite that bites people, transferring the
pathogen. Viruses, bacteria, and allergens can also be transmitted through the urine and feces
of rodents and easily transferred onto surfaces throughout the home.
Clean-Up and Sanitation
Heavy rodent infestations leave a mess – droppings, urine, contaminated insulation, nesting material.
We can handle clean-up and sanitation if needed. Remove contaminated insulation. Disinfect the attic. Seal and deodorize.
Not every situation needs this, but if you’ve had rodents living in the attic for a while, it’s worth considering.
Preventing Future Rodent Problems
Once we've eliminated the current population and sealed entry points, keeping them out is about maintenance:
Keep tree branches trimmed back from the roof. Rodents use them as highways into the attic.
Store firewood away from the house. Don't give them harborage right next to your foundation.
Fix any moisture problems. Rodents need water – if you've got leaks, they're attracted to it.
Keep food in sealed containers. Don't leave pet food out overnight.
Rodent Control Across Our Service Areas
Whether you’re in Crockett, Palestine, Huntsville, Conroe, or anywhere else we cover, rodents are a problem. Rural areas see more field mice. Suburban areas see more rats. Older homes have more entry points.
Every situation is different. We treat each property based on what’s actually happening there.
Rodents vs. Wildlife – What’s the Difference?
Mice and rats are rodents. Squirrels, raccoons, and opossums are wildlife.
We handle both, but the approach is different. Rodents we trap and eliminate. Wildlife we trap
and relocate as well as (or exclude).
If you’re hearing something big in the attic, that’s probably not a mouse. Give us a call and we’ll figure out what you’ve got.
Getting Started with Rodent Control
